Today Skype releases new versions 5.4 of Mac and 5.7 for Windows, both are in beta but lead to a higher level integration between VoIP and social networking. Now you can make video calls on Facebook Skype for video chat with users who don't have Skype installed.
After the integration of Skype's instant messaging within Facebook, Skype now makes available new versions of its client software for Mac and PC that can make Skype video calls. Starting a video call Facebook to Facebook through Skype is very easy, all you need do is press the video call in Skype and your friend from Facebook will respond.
It is worth noting that the chat will be available for all Facebook users on your computer that have never installed Skype, thanks to Skype technologies boost integration inside of Facebook's social web platform. No coincidence that the official Skype blog on this new major release is defined as "the first major step of Skype on the web."

In addition to chat with Facebook, Skype 5.4 Beta versions for Mac and Skype 5.7 Beta for Windows include other updates, including improvements in video quality for Mac users and screen sharing for Windows users with Premium membership. Note that the screen sharing feature is currently only available for Mac users. So while chatting between 2 people they can share their screen with each other.
