After the record hardware sales recorded during the Christmas period, an analysis by Flurry confirms that the number of downloads of the app store on the two main (App Store - Android Market) has exceeded the most optimistic expectations.

Only in the last week of the year, in fact, have been downloaded 1.2 billion in the two app stores from Apple and Google. A very high number especially if compared with the first week of December when the average was 750 million apps downloaded. Therefore growth equal to 60%.

As expected, the day with the most number of downloads has been to Christmas, there are several factors accomplices: new smartphone received as a gift and for the Apple store, iTunes gift card. In just one day on December 25 have been downloaded 242 million applications.

The country with the highest number of downloads? The United States, with 509 million downloads, followed by China with 99 million, the United Kingdom (81 million) and Canada (41 million).
