Apple wanted to create a way for all iOS users, regardless of device (as long as it runs iOS 5), to be able to quickly message each other in a free and simple way so in this guide we see how to enable IMessage on the iPad.

Activate iMessage

• Go to Settings
• Select the voice messages
• Enable iMessage through the switch. If you want to make sure that others receive a notification when you read their messages, then enable the "send a read receipt".
• On iPad you must enter your Apple ID or another email on which to receive the IMessage, then you can enter new email address which can receive iMessage.

Anyone who has an iPad, then, must place an Apple ID and, optionally, an additional email address (for example, if all your friends know your mailing address different from the one you used for the Apple) as iMessage will be sent using the email address (but you will not receive an email as your friend always use the app to send a messages IMessage).

Once you enable the email address or your Apple ID, in fact if someone wants to send a message to your IMessage iPad simply know your email address.
