Apple Announces Author and iBooks 2 interactive teaching tools

Apple in the event that is taking place in New York announced a project for creating interactive books. A Mac application (free) called Author to build compelling and rich volumes of multimedia content easily and publish them on iBooks Store.

Textbooks, interactive, searchable, easy to navigate, immediate to use at school, fun, that does not spoil, they are cheap and everyone can create. Here's what Apple today introduced the event which was held in New York during which, as expected, was announced the new initiative for electronic publishing.

iBooks 2 the name of "marketing" of the project as well as the new version of the application used to read, is aimed at improving the quality of education that, in the U.S., as clarified by Schiller at the opening, it is rather disappointing.

Apple believes that using a part of the platform iPad and other innovative possibilities offered from publishing electronically, you can reverse this trend by giving the opportunity for publishers but also to simple teachers, educational groups and even students, to publish books in digital rich interactivity and animations.

The core around which Apple builds its project is an application of new generation, Author with which you can create easily texts. The concept is what we have already seen used in programs such as Pages, Numbers and Keynote in particular. Just as in the software for the presentations you can drag text, photos, 3D animation for "print" engaging books.

Author supports technologies such as Javascript and HTML5. In a few minutes, as shown on the stage of the Guggenheim Museum, you can create a refined and intelligent support of a lesson, a course or a conference.

The application is available for free on the Mac App Store includes templates, widgets, multitouch, photos, videos, and all the tools you need to create books.
