Some developers say they have succeeded in creating a hack, but still at the preliminary stage with which it can start applications for iPhone OS on Apple TV. The team that created the hack provides a launcher and shown the actual functionality by launching Angry Birds, Cydia, Facebook, Safari and YouTube.
The system uses the Apple TV changed with the jailbreak, still has several bugs, does not support some functions (e.g. automatic display rotation), but lets you use VNC, capture screens and remotely start applications with similar functionality. Also interesting is the ability to launch applications "side by side" allowing you to open multiple apps simultaneously.
The developers claim that with this hack are hoping to convince Apple to integrate similar possibility with the Apple TV, as happened with the launch of the first iPhone that led to the App Store.
